Man this beat Batten, Kat, even Yngwie. Not just for speed,but for beauty combined with it as well. Being that this is not an iprov piece, but a precomposed one, the melodic aspect is a given. That coupled with Jose's phrasing makes this piece beautiful, something that's very difficult with this piece because of some of its intentionally annoying lines.

I mean, he jumps for a long distances - all over the frettboard. That's what I wan't to say. Enyone who plays guitar for a year or two, can play with closed eyes. But only on short range. Even the best musicians take a peek at the frettboard, to be 100% sure, where to play ;)

This is true of many musicians; I did play several instruments and had memorized where to hit those notes; did you ever see an accordion player----there is no way to see what you are playing on the left side, all you can do is feel and know the order of the cords by memory. But I was Pete Fountain and he played the clarinet with eyes closed a lot. It is a talent, no doubt.
