Network was made in 1976, this was 1977, so it beat films like Julia (all I can remember). Network lost the year before to Rocky, still a disastrous decision and a travesty as you put it :)

Well, just because "Annie Hall" was up for best picture in 1977 and "Network" in 1976. It was "Rocky" that beat "Network", "Taxi Driver" and "All The President's Men" and that WAS a travesty. And "Annie Hall" is a classic, btw.

oh shut up Diane has her own style really. It's more random and a bunch of pieces thrown together. Katharine Hepburn did pioneer the women wearing pants in movies thing though. Other actresses like Marlene Dietrich also favored menswear. Anyway Keaton is awesome and just like Hepburn could do drama and comedy.

I think Diane looks cool. She doesn't care what anyone thinks and still doesn't. She wears wha she likes. Nowadays if you look at girls like Kate Moss and Sienna Miller and it's obvious that they copy not only Twiggy but Diane when you watch what she's wearing in Annie Hall, not only the suits but the type of dresses she was wearing and mixture of clothes.
