Any type of gel, fake, or acrylic nail will damage natural ones more. I just hd my acrylic nails taken off today because they were old, and I got new ones. WEll my nails broke at the touch. It was horrifying lol. anyway, i would recommend some nail strengthener, or if your looking for leaving your gel/ acrylic nails on for a while, try that, it makes your nails harder when they are on =]

And your natural nail doesn't get damaged from gel, thats only if you lack certain vitamins, but at the same time if you get them taken off the right way, it will be fine. Some nail techs that work at those typical nail salons for example drill into your nail bed and acrylics are also much harsher.

guys please help... i have thin nails .. which start to peel in layers the moment it leaves the skin underneath so the maximun length i can grow hem from that paint is 3 mm more than that they start to peel... and on top of that i wanna learn spanish guitar for which i need to grow nails to do the right hand strumming...so i wanted to know can i use these gels as nail strengtheners so that they will be more stable as they grow out.jus a little bit long ...please help

His are WAY TOO THICK and, if done properly, technician shouldn't have to re-shape/file after the nail is cured in the light. I've had french gel manicures for months and mine are thin and natural looking. Takes about 1 hour 15 minutes; costs $40-75 in the Chicago area. I love them...they are perfect for my thin, peeling nails. They last 3 weeks with very little care.

I've had mine done this way for 3 years and love them. They last well and look so good! His are a bit too thick, but it was nice to hear a commentary because the salon I use is run by Vietnamese who speak very little English.

Not true. Gel is less harsh on your nails than Acrylic. If you have gel nails taken off professionally they should be the same thickness as before you had your nails done.
Gel look more natural, lifts less and does less damage than acrylic.
On another note, Gel is gel. If your nail salon smells bad, they use Acrylic. If there is a powder involved, it's Acrylic. Pink and white, diamond, and solar are not gel, they are Acrylic, and you're getting RIPPED OFF!

hi! Fibreglass nails are the best ones to get for nails dat are weak/damaged/peeling, due to biting excessivley or ill health. They look like natural nails and help build its strength. i've seen it applied to a damaged nail before and it was so effective. hope this helps! ps) u dont need nails for guitar strumming, dey'll only gt damaged doing so anyway. you use ur fingers, thats what i do anyway hope this helps :):)
