I agree. She's not the type to let the labels stifle her voice or creativity, which is probably why she's laying low now. There seems to be so much room for the PCDs and Rihanna's of the world (performers who sample shamelessly and can't sing worth a damn) but little for actual ARTISTS; writers and creaters of their own music and lyrics.
BTW where the hell was I when this video came out? I thought I'd seen them all.

Well, there are a lot of artists that I really love that are similar to Fiona and don't merchandize themselves like the commercial artists do. Take a look at Alanis, Tori Amos, Ryan Adams, Joseph Arthur. These r just sum examples of people that don't need all that merchandising and still sell. I think that between When the pawn... and Extraordinary machine there was a lot of time where many commercial pop artists showed up and took the attention of the media. She could use some more publicity
